If you are planning to buy pre-owned earbuds, and you haven't used them yet with your device, then you can leave this step.
- First jump to the Settings on your device.
- Now navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
- After that, find your Apple earbuds from the paired devices.
- Tap on the "i" button beside the earbuds name.
- There choose the "Forget This Device" option on your device.
This will unpair your earbuds from your iPhone, iPad, and other smartphones. Your AirPods don't need to be connected to your device while unpairing. You can unpair them whether you are connected or disconnected from your device.
